Journalism

In Journalism, we will be displaying our students’ abilities to create multimedia news and feature material. Students work in a live newsroom environment to create TV, radio, digital and print content. They were rewarded in 2017 with nominations for awards from the journalism industry accreditation bodies.

Journalism

An MA Broadcast Journalism student won the best radio package from the Broadcast Journalism Training Council and BA Sports Journalism students were shortlisted for the best TV newsday. BA Journalism students were also shortlisted in the National Council for the Training of Journalists Awards for Excellence. The university invested more than £250,000 upgrading our Greenbank Building newsrooms, TV and radio studios.

Greenbank is also home to our fully operating, student-led publishing house, UCLan Publishing, which produces and sells professional, commercial books and eBooks for sale on the high street and online. The publishing house is a unique space which is entirely owned by MA Publishing students and which can be accessed 24 hours a day. All students get the chance to be involved in the activities of the publishing house including making books, sales, marketing and events. Our new undergraduate BA Publishing course will also run from September 2018.
