The Tea Room
‘Tea with strangers’ is a project that aims to encourage an engagement within the community to sit down, meet and chat with people you wouldn’t have before, ‘Cities to feel more like neighbourhoods’. A hope, for a space like this, would be to offer a place where people can escape the busy environment of a city, and in the process, reduce stress, anxiety and the pace of everyday life. The space offers visitors an insight into the history of Liverpool trade that has been a part of the dock for many years, and to recognise what it means to people today.
Heather’s approach to her honours project has been very focused and self-driven. She has undertaken rigorous research and supported this with a creative narrative that underpins her final design outcome. The subtle and light touch that she has applied to her scheme reflects not only her professionalism but also her personality. Throughout her studies, Heather has demonstrated a mature approach and has been a valued member of the course team.
